| Welcome to LBJ General Hospital, a major teaching affiliate
of the University of Texas Houston
Medical School. LBJ Hospital is part of the Harris
County Hospital District (HCHD). We are located in the northeast
section of the city, just 15 minutes from the Texas
Medical School and our parent institution, The
University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston. LBJ is a full service community hospital of 330 beds. The majority of our patients come from the working class neighborhood that surrounds our location. All of our medical school residency programs rotate through the LBJ facilities and in addition we serve as a base for our own OB-Gyn and transitional year graduate medical education programs. As such, our facility is staffed by dedicated professionals interested in advancing healthcare. "LBJ" is a popular choice for medical school electives. We are proud of our part in the "UT System", but we are equally proud of the unique opportunities, goals, and accomplishments that LBJ continues to have in our community, medical education, research, and healthcare.
